ISI TO RE-OPEN AFTER A WEEK SHUT DOWN

After the meeting of the President of the UI Muslim community and the Chief Imam with the members of the forum to on Friday, 23 November, 2018 which held after Juma’at prayers at the University central mosque to find an ending solution to the crisis of Hijab rocking at the International School, Ibadan (ISI), a source, when asked if the female Muslim students would be allowed to wear hijab when the school reopens, said the meeting was still holding that the resolutions of all the meetings would be laid bare on Saturday, letting drop a comment about the question.

Remember that the incidence of hijab protest started on November 12, 2018 and got a resolution of the meeting of the governing board released on November 14, 2018 and later, the agitation of the Muslim loyalists got the school locked down till further notice on November 19, 2018 to forestall any further problem.

Meanwhile, after the meeting of aggrieved parents with the President and Chief Imam, which held on Saturday, 24 November, 2018, Parents have been directed by the management that the school would reopen on Monday, 26 November, 2018. The message sent through a text to a parent reads in full: “This is to inform all students, staff and parents that ISI, UI will reopen on a Monday, 26/11/2018 to continue the 1st term (2018/2019) session.
